As article marketing continues to quickly grow in popularity, directory and ezine editors have more and more articles to review every day. Some of them have thousands upon thousands to review daily! I can tell you that the very first thing they do when reviewing your article is to look for obvious problems simply so that they can decline the article without having to spend their time reading it. Remember this!
Here's what they look for first:
- Article Title The article title should not be in ALL CAPS and it should be written in title case. Do not include your URL or business name in the title. No punctuation or special characters.
- Category Make sure to submit your article to the correct category. Do not submit to the "Business: Sales" category unless that is what your article is about!!
- Article Summary No links, no outright selling or promotion. Do not go over maximum word count.
- Article Body No links, no outright selling or promotion. Make sure to meet the minimum word requirement.
- Resource Box Only the accepted amount of links, do not go over maximum word count, try to link to pages related to your article. Make sure links are live and do not link to offensive websites.
Once the editor looks at these things, they will then begin reading your article.
